The Beautification Trust is a social enterprise on a mission to connect and empower communities to learn, love and look after our environment. Since 2001, we've been leading beautification projects, community events and environmental education all over South and East Auckland. Any proceeds from our commercial services such as graffiti removal are invested back into the community. Our mahi sees communities have pride and feel safe, the environment becoming cleaner and healthier; and communities being connected and empowered.

EcoMatters Environment Trust aims to connect people and place and to nurture kaitiakitanga (guardianship). Based in Auckland in Aotearoa New Zealand, EcoMatters is an established charitable trust that was formed in 2002. We work with and for the community to deliver environmental initiatives in partnership with key entities like Auckland Council, the Ministry for the Environment, other not-for-profits and community groups. We do this by supporting the community with knowledge and tools to restore nature, grow food, reduce waste, ride and fix bikes, and live more sustainably. We also run workshops and provide opportunities for hands-on environmental action in Auckland.

Kaipatiki Project

Location: Auckland
Category: Environmental

Kaipātiki Project is an innovative EcoHub based on Auckland's North. Our vision is to grow a sustainable future for people and nature. We achieve this through a number of projects, including native bush regeneration and stream care, a large-scale native plant nursery, a zero waste hub, community composting hubs and food gardens. We are committed to upholding Te Tiriti O Waitangi and to embracing Te Ao Māori in the workplace. We partner with mana whenua and mataawaka Māori where possible, to understand how mātauranga Māori can improve environmental outcomes in our work.

Kaipātiki Project plays a vital role to support, engage and enable our community and volunteers to participate in regenerative environment and sustainable living activities that support overall wellbeing, bringing communities together, enhancing skills and creativity, and building a sense of pride. We engage with intent, to work with a diverse range of volunteers, members, partners, funders, supporters, collaborators, donors and participants.

Waiheke Resources Trust

Location: Waiheke Island
Category: Environmental

Waiheke Resources Trust (WRT) is a professional not-for-profit organisation that has been serving the Waiheke community since 1998. Through our projects, WRT works to support thriving environments and communities by engaging, educating, and supporting people in environmental restoration, food resilience, and waste minimisation. We collaborate with local groups and businesses, national and regional networks, iwi, government bodies, subject experts, and Waiheke whānau.

We believe that when environments are healthy and communities are connected, people and wildlife can flourish, and within that community, a strong economy can exist. We welcome interns and volunteers to join our team and collaborate on a variety of tasks that contribute to positive change in the local community. Whether it's working on food rescue initiatives, providing marine education, or supporting our bike hub, we value the passion and dedication of individuals who share our vision.
